ADERANT

ADERANT is a software company that specializes business solutions for professional services firms. Its target markets are law firms, accounting firms, and consulting firms. ADERANT provides financial, resource, and practice management software for firms of various sizes. The company is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia and has offices in Europe and the Asia/Pacific region. ADERANT spells its name using all capital letters.

History

ADERANT was formed in 2004, when Solution 6 Holdings , an Australian accounting software company, divested itself of its professional and enterprise division. The spun-off division was purchased by Francisco Partners , a U.S. investment firm specializing in technology companies. The divestiture took place in conjunction with Solution 6's merger with MYOB, another Australian accounting software company.

Despite the short life of the present company, it has existed for over 25 years in previous incarnations. Its CMS product started as a stand-alone software product owned by CMS/Data Corporation, which was founded in 1979. CMS/Data was purchased by PC DOCS Group International. PC DOCS was acquired by Hummingbird Communications Ltd. (now just Hummingbird Ltd. ) in 1999. Solution 6 Holdings Limited acquired CMS/Data from Hummingbird later that year^[1].
