ASN

Atlantic Satellite Network is ATV's sister satellite television station broadcasting from Atlantic Canada throughout Canada on cable and satellite television. It is owned by CTV. It signed on in 1983 as a supplement to ATV's programming schedule, and news and other programs produced by ATV, but airing at different times, has been a staple of ASN's programming. ASN was originally owned by CHUM, and another staple of its schedule was, and still is, programs which its Toronto station Citytv either produces or has rights to. For many years, ASN aired movies in primetime, but under CTV they were phased out in favour of regular dramatic series.
