Aiden McGeady (born April 4,1986 in Glasgow,Scotland) is a professional football player for Celtic F.C. who also represents the Republic of Ireland in international football.
McGeady made his senior debut for Celtic in 2004 during a Scottish Premier League match against Heart of Midlothian F.C., in which he scored. He earned his first cap for the Republic of Ireland - for whom he is eligible to play through his grandparents - later that year. His decision to opt for Ireland instead of his birthplace has been the subject of some controversy and has resulted in McGeady being singled out for verbal abuse by opposing fans.
