Albatera

Albatera is a town located in the comarca of El Baix Segura , in the province of Alicante, Spain. Albatera has an area of 66.5 km2 and, according to the 2003 census, a total population of 9,362 inhabitants. The economy of Albatera is mainly based on trade and agriculture. The most important monument in the city is the baroque Catholic church of Santiago Apóstol, built in 1727.
