Alice in Wonderland (1966 movie)

Alice in Wonderland (1966) is a more adult television adaptation of the classic novel by Lewis Carroll, directed by Jonathan Miller of Beyond the Fringe fame. The film featured a number of famed British actors including Michael Redgrave, John Gielgud, and Peter Sellers, as well as two of the director's cast-mates from Beyond the Fringe, Peter Cook and Alan Bennett. The title role was performed by little known Anne-Marie Mallik, in her only known acting performance. Wilfrid Brambell played the white rabbit. While the original story has Wonderland populated by strange animals, this version was performed without animal costumes or indeed special effects.

Ravi Shankar wrote the music for this unusual production.
