Alistair Carmichael

Alistair Morrison Carmichael (born July 15, 1965) is a Liberal Democrat politician, and member of Parliament for the Scottish seat of Orkney and Shetland. He has been MP since the 2001 general election and is currently Scottish Liberal Democrat spokesperson on Energy and part of the Liberal Democrats Home Affairs team.

He was born on Islay and received his education at Aberdeen University. He is married with two children and lives in Orkney.
