Allan Rex Sandage (Born June 18 1926) is an American astronomer.

He won the Helen B. Warner Prize for Astronomy in 1957. He won the Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society in 1967. He won the Henry Norris Russell Lectureship in 1972 and the Bruce Medal in 1975.
