American Budgie

The American Budgie is also known as the parakeet. They make great pets and can talk phrases or words, imitate sounds and sometimes respond to a certain color, shape or sound that they hear or see. But this is only if you train them enough.

Color

Usually, they are light green, yellow on its head and neck area and black on the rims of its wings and feathers. Sometimes the American Budgie is light blue, green or yellow on the entire body. If your budgie is young, it will usually have a red feather on its lower end called its blood feather. You can lso tell if a your bird is young by looking at its cere. The cere is a fleshy band on the beak. If the cere is pink, your bird is around a few years old. When the cere is blue, it is a grown male and yellow or deep brown means female.

Buying

If you plan to buy a baby American Budgie, expect to pay about $10 (USD). If you would like a hand-fed baby(which is better because it will be better with humans), expect to pay about $20. Finally, if you want to buy a grown, trained budgie, you will be paying form $100 to $200.
