Angelo Bertelli

Angelo Bertelli (June 18, 1921 - June 26, 1999) was an American football quarterback. He played six games for Notre Dame in 1943 before leaving to join the Marines. He was awarded the Heisman Trophy for that season.

He was nicknamed the "Springfield Rifle" because he hailed from West Springfield, Massachusetts, and he was one of the early true forward passers in college football.

Angelo played for the Los Angeles Dons after his service in the military. He owned a series of liquor stores in Clifton, New Jersey and in West Springfield.
