Arthur Connolly

Arthur Connolly (died 1842 Bukhara) was a British captain who worked for the British East India Company. He was executed along with fellow British officer Charles Stoddart by the Emir of Bukhara, Nasrullah Khan in 1842 for spying for the British Empire. He coined the term The Great Game to describe the struggle between the British Empire and Russia for domination over Central Asia.
