Aspe

Aspe (or Asp in Catalan) is a town located in the comarca of El Vinalopó Mitjà , in the province of Alicante, Spain. It has an area of 70.9 km² and, according to the 2003 census, a total population of 17,423 inhabitants and a population density of 245.74 inhab/km². The town is located in the valley of the river Vinalopó , 25 km from Alicante city. The economy of Aspe is based on textile and footwear industries and farming (vegetables and fruits).
