Bangkok Metropolitan Area

The Bangkok Metropolitan Area (Thai: กรุงเทพมหานครและปริมณฑล)is the urban area of Bangkok, Thailand and its surrounding provinces. Altogether it covers an area of 4,721.0 km² and with a population of 8,700,744 (2004) it has a population density of 1,842.99 per km².

It covers the provinces:

• Bangkok Population : 5,904,226
• Nonthaburi Population : 949,411
• Samut Prakan Population : 1,068,791
• Pathum Thani Population : 778,316
