BeaverTail

In Canada, Fried dough is almost universally known as a BeaverTail. Although this is a brand name of a chain of outdoor food stands, it has become a generic term as well. The first BeaverTails restaurant opened in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada more than 25 years ago, and now has more than 130 locations around the world, including Costa Rica, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Scotland and the United States.

In the winter in Ottawa, Ontario it is quite common for people to go skating on the Rideau Canal and stop at the various food areas for a hot chocolate and a BeaverTail.
