Berta Bommer

Berta Bommer (born September 15, 1903) was a female overseer at the Natzweiler concentration camp during the last year of World War II.

She was born in Kirchheim , Germany. In 1944 she applied with the camp office in Kirchheim and the Nazis sent her to Natzweiler to begin her guard training. In the camp, Berta was known as a sadist and a brute, forcing women to do hard labor while being abused and starved. In late October 1944, Berta fled the Natzweiler camp and went back to her home in Kirchheim. She was never prosecuted for her crimes in the camp.
