Botucatu is a municipality in the state of São Paulo in Brazil. Its coordinates are . The population in 2003 is 117,308 and the area is 1486.4 km² The elevation is 804 m. It is located 224.8 Km from the Capital of the State (São Paulo) and 898 Km the Capital of Brazil (Brasilia).

The region has humid-subtropical weather, with dry winters and hot summers. During winter the temperature rarely falls below 2º C. During most of the year, mainly at night, there is a breeze coming from the surrounding mountain systems.
