Brihaspati

(Redirected from Brahmanaspati)

In Hinduism, Brihaspati is the god of magic and prayer. He helped create the universe and has seven mouths with seven rays of light coming out of each. His chariot is pulled by eight horses. He is married to Tara , who was kidnapped by Soma. Brahma forced him to give her back, but she was already pregnant with his son Budha.

Brihaspati is also the name of an ancient Indian philosopher who is considered as the founder of the atheistic system of thought Lokayata.
