C.C. DeVille

C.C. DeVille (born May 14, 1962) is best known as the lead guitarist of the American hair metal band Poison.

DeVille was born as Bruce Anthony Johannsen in the Bay Ridge area of Brooklyn, New York. He moved to Los Angeles and played in various bands before auditioning for Poison.

By the release of Flesh and Blood (1990), it had become apparent that DeVille had a problem with cocaine and alcohol. Resulting frictions with lead singer Bret Michaels led to Deville leaving the band for an extended period.

By 1995, DeVille had overcome his addictions and he rejoined Poison in the following year.

In 1998 DeVille and bass player Krys Baratto formed the band Samantha 7 . Samantha 7 released their self-titled debut album in 2000 on Columbia Records.

In 2004 DeVille's 9-minute guitar solo from the Poison record Swallow this Live was voted #1 in Guitar World's poll "100 Worst Riffs, Licks & Solos of All Time" .
