Capital Scholars Program

The Capital Scholars Program is a program at the University of Illinois at Springfield (UIS). As of March 2005, it is the only way for anyone to enter UIS as a freshman.

The first class of Capital Scholars appeared on the UIS campus during the fall of 2001.

The program has been criticized by both students and parents, especially from Sangamon County, for its residency requirement.
