Cathal Coughlan

Irish singer songwriter, formally of Microdisney, and The Fatima Mansions. His controversial lyrical content with its focus on politics, the seamy side of relationships and the interplay between the two are perhaps a major factor in his lack of commercial success. His voice has prompted comparisons with Scott Walker (a major influence). This is coupled with varying musical styles running the gamut from austere neo-classical to techno music. His work abounds in literary, historical and political references and grotesque surreal imagery. As a solo musician, he has completed three albums the most recent of which is The Sky's Awful Blue.
