Cocycle class

In mathematics, more specifically in cohomology theory, a $q \, \!$ -cocycle $\alpha \, \!$ in the cochain group $S^q(X) \, \!$ is associated with a unique equivalence class $[\alpha] \in H^q(X) \, \!$ known as the cocycle class of $\alpha. \, \!$
