Covilhã

Covilhã is a city and a municipality located at the bottom of "Serra da Estrela" in Castelo Branco district in central Portugal. The city population is 23132 in 5 parishes. The municipality has 31 parishes and a population of 54658.

Covilhã has an university called Universidade da Beira Interior, Covilhã is also a center of wool and textile industries. Tourism is also important, and the city has a role as a winter resort.
