DOPA

DOPA (L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine) is the precursor to dopamine. It is formed when the amino acid tyrosine is metabolized by tyrosine hydroxylase. When DOPA is decarboxylated by DOPA decarboxylase it becomes dopamine.
