Epoxide hydrolase

In general, the epoxide hydrolase system functions in detoxication during drug metabolism. It converts epoxides trans-dihydrodiols. Epoxides are significant as cytochrome P450 oxidase metabolites of unsaturated carbon-carbon bonds.
