Exposure

Exposure can be:

A condition of poor health or death resulting from prolonged exposure to weather
radiation poisoning
Exposure of the skin to sunshine, etc.
Exposure of unwanted infants in classical Mediterranean cultures and others, a common origin for mythic heroes: Perseus, Moses, Romulus and Remus. Compare sex-selective infanticide.
photographic exposure; see exposure (photography).
publicity (e.g. of an artist)
Exposure of (parts of) the body, especially the bare skin, to the view of others; if that goes too far it is called indecent exposure; the exposure may be limited out of modesty.

- Imaginal exposure – where they imagine the feared stimulus
- In vivo exposure – where they expose themselves to the actual stimulus
- Virtual Reality – where they use virtual reality techniques to expose themselves to the stimulus
