Falmer

Falmer is an attractive small village between Brighton and Lewes in East Sussex, England. Due to the proximity of Falmer to Brighton, Falmer parish has witnessed first-hand the twentieth-century development of Brighton. Since the 1960s it has been home to the University of Sussex campus, and in the 1990s, the former Brighton Polytechnic Falmer campus became a principal base of the University of Brighton. Neither campus is visible from Falmer village itself. The parish is also a proposed site for a new stadium for the Brighton & Hove Albion F.C..

The A27 Brighton bypass divides Falmer village. North of the A27 is a public house, with a footbridge linking to the southern part of the village, where the centrepiece of a large pond is encircled by cottages and the parish church. The village is served by Falmer Station which lies on the East Coastway.
