Fat admirer

Fat admirers (or FAs) are people, usually male heterosexuals, who are sexually attracted to large partners. (The equivalent term among gay men is chubby chaser.) Although some use this term to refer to anyone with a standard of beauty larger than that of the mainstream, others reject the "fat" component of the phrase as unhelpfully pejorative and inaccurate. Female FAs are referred to as FFAs.

FAs are often viewed as fetishists by the mainstream, but some reject such labels as unfair, regarding popular culture as being dominated by a pro-thin bias and tend to call it a preference, like a preference for red hair, for others being an FA is having a particular fetish for fat in either sex, even if not attracted to the same sex, but find the idea of himself or herself being fat sexually appealing. Many FAs are involved with the fat acceptance movement.

FAs are often criticized for being attracted to partners with weights regarded by mainstream medical experts as unhealthy. FAs generally argue that such claims by medical experts are biased for various reasons, such as the influence of the diet industry.

The average FA should not be confused with the feeder, though he may sympathize with his cause.
