Roadway Package System was a small package shipping company started by Roadway Services and headquartered in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. It was created to compete against UPS. When Roadway Services spun off Roadway Express , Roadway Package System was rebranded as RPS.
Roadway Package System was renamed FedEx Ground in January 2000 [[1]], two years after being acquired by FedEx, a company that offers overnight courier and logistics services.
