Femoral triangle

The femoral triangle is an anatomical region of the human thigh, important as a number of important structures pass through here.

The femoral triangle is formed by the inguinal ligament (superiorly), the sartorius muscle (laterally), and adductor longus (medially).

The femoral nerve , the femoral artery and the femoral vein (from lateral to medial), are three important structures running through this area. A mnemonic for the order is: NAVY - nerve, artery, vein, Y-fronts . (Y-fronts are a brand of underwear, that is added to elucidate the direction of naming, lateral to medial.)
