Fernmeldeturm Nürnberg

The Nuernberger telecommunication tower, that because of its egg-shaped tower basket into 185 metres height also the name of "Nuernberger Ei (Egg of Nuremburg)", are 292 meters carry high and between 1975 and 1977 were built. It accommodates one - since 1991 unfortunately closed - beside transmission mechanisms for UKW and radio relay link also routistic range with a turning restaurant and a prospect platform in the tower basket. Responsible person operator is the DFMG German radio tower GmbH, a subsidiary of the German Telekom, with seat in cathedrals. From 22 January 2003 by 4 April 2003 the Nuernberger served telecommunication tower also for the spreading of the program of megaradio on the medium wave frequency 945 kHz. For this a wire antenna became strained along the tower shaft, whose highest end to the tower shaft and their lowest end on the roof of the operating building lying to feet of the tower were fastened.
