Fimbrin crosslinks actin filaments, making them a parallell bundle, also disallowing the myosin II motor protein to enter it. This is to be compared with the effect of alpha-actinin , which bundles actin filaments together into a contractile bundle.
Do not confuse fimbrin with fibrin or fibrinogen!
