French Embassy in Washington

The Embassy of France to the United States is the French embassy in Washington D.C. It is located at 4101 Reservoir Road, NW just north of Georgetown University. The embassy consists of a large gated compound with a number of structures inside. The current facility was opened in 1984 and was designed by André Remondet . The American embassy is the largest French embassy with some 400 staffers.

As well as the standard diplomatic facilities the compound is home to La Maison Française cultural facility that contains an auditorium, library, theatre, and exhibition hall and regularly hosts events open to the general public.
