Global Frequency

Global Frequency is Warren Ellis's exploration of "Rescue Fiction." Each issue is self-contained, meaning they can be read in any order. Currently there are 13 issues, with a possible second series yet to come.

In the fictional work Global Frequency is an active smartmob consisting of 1001 people organized through advanced cellphones who respond to global emergencies and phenomena ranging from Heaven's Gate-esque cults to rogue military operations. They are lead by a woman acting under the psuedonym Miranda Zero, and dispatched/coordinated by a former student named Aleph.

Mark Burnett is preparing a Global Frequency television series for 2005 with Michelle Forbes as Miranda Zero. A pilot episode was created but WB, the original intended network, did not pick up the series. Other networks have expressed some small interest.
