Governor-General of Tuvalu

The Governor-General of Tuvalu is the representative of Queen Elizabeth II on the island nation, serving as its head of state, and performing the same duties as the Queen in the United Kingdom. The office has been in existence since Tuvalu was granted independence from the United Kingdom, on October 1, 1978. The current (as of 2004) Governor-General is Faimalaga Luka.
