Greater Nottingham

Greater Nottingham is an term for the large conurbation based around the city of Nottingham in Nottinghamshire, England. Unlike Greater Manchester and Greater London, the term has no formal definition.

The Greater Nottingham area includes Nottingham itself, along with various other towns such as Arnold, Hucknall, Beeston, Clifton, West Bridgford, Eastwood and Long Eaton. Together these towns have a population of around 650,000.

These towns are mainly in the three surrounding districts of Rushcliffe, Broxtowe and Gedling, though the area spills also into the Notts district of Ashfield, and even south-eastern Derbyshire.

A wider definition of the Nottingham metropolitan area could also include Mansfield, Derby, and perhaps even northern Leicestershire towns such as Loughborough.
