Hailar, China

Hailar (海拉尔; Pinyin: Hǎilā'ěr) is a city and administrative district in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia, People's Republic of China. It was founded as a Chinese fort in 1734, and during the reign of the Republic of China it was the capital city of Xingan province . In 1999 it had a population of 209,294.
