Hardball with Chris Matthews is a talk show on MSNBC hosted by Chris Matthews.
Hardball features popular politicians and political analysts talking about political issues. During coverage of the 2004 Republican National Convention, Zell Miller angrily stated that he wished he could challenge Matthews to a duel because of the latter's questions.
The show features many regular guests, including Rich Lowry of National Review, Katrina vanden Heuvel of the Nation, former Democratic pollster Pat Caddell, and former member of the Clinton Administration Paul Begala.
The show is parodied in a recurring skit on NBC Television's Saturday Night Live with Darrell Hammond portraying Matthews.
The show has been criticized for having a liberal slant.
