Head gardener

The head gardener is an individial who manages the staff of a large garden, landscape or park, such as a:

• residential garden
• botanical garden
• theme park
• public park
• museum
• roadside embankments and islands

A head gardener's responsibilty may therefore cross over into the management of or liaising among individuals from other disciplines, such as landscaping, construction and cooking and not be limited to gardening, the activity of growing and maintaining the garden. A large or stately property may include several different types of garden, such as the
