Heckington Windmill

Heckington Windmill is the only 8-sailed tower windmill still standing in the UK. It is located about midway between Sleaford and Boston in Lincolnshire. It was built in 1830, having its distinctive eight sails added in the year 1892 after losing the previous set in a storm. It stopped commercial production in 1946, but is now in working order again, having been restored by the Friends of Heckington Windmill, reopening in 1986.

The mill is open to visitors in the summer as of 2004.
