Holy Wounds

The Holy Wounds of Christ were the five piercing wounds inflicted upon Jesus during his crucifixion. Two of them would be found either through the hands or the lower wrists between the radius and ulna, where the nails of the cross-beam of the cross on which Jesus was crucified were inserted, two would have been through the feet where the single nail that passed through both feet to the vertical beam was inserted, and the final one would have been in the side of the body, where, according to the New Testament, the body was lanced in order to check that Jesus was dead. According to the Bible, wine flowed instead of blood out from this fifth and final wound.
