IMG, originally known as the "International Management Group" is a leading global talent agency and production company. It was founded by Mark McCormack.
McCormack was an American lawyer who sported the potential for sportsmen to make large incomes from endorsement in the television age, and signed golfer Arnold Palmer as his first client. He died in 2003.
IMG is now a global organisation which represents sportspeople, entertainers, performing artists, writers and models. As of early 2005 it was 2,200 staff in 70 offices in 30 countries. In addition to acting as an agent to individuals, the company is involved in television production, corporate marketing, non-character licensing, and sports and fitness academies.
