Incomplete dominance

Incomplete dominance and the closely related co-dominance are terms in genetics that refer to the situation where an organism inherits a blended or combined phenotype instead of just the dominant trait, when two alleles are present in the genotype. In the case of incomplete dominance, the characteristics defined by the alleles are blended together to create an intermediate phenotype. For instance, in four-o'-clocks and snapdragons, crossing red and white produces pink.

For a more detailed treatment, see Dominance relationship.
