The Institute of Business Administration of the University of Dhaka - commonly known as IBA - is one of the leading business-education institutions of Bangladesh. It was established in the 1960s under the aegis and with the collaboration of various parties, including the Karachi IBA, the Ford Foundation, and Indiana University, Bloomington.
From its inception until 1993, IBA offered the MBA as its main academic program. In 1993, the institute added a Bachelor of Business Administration program. The BBA program is now one of the most coveted undergraduate programs in the country.
IBA alumni are to be found in all sectors of private and public enterprise, and are often to be found in leadership positions across Bangladesh.
The well-known Bangladeshi economist Dr Muzaffar Ahmed is a professor at IBA.
