Jacinta Collins


Jacinta Mary Ann Collins (born 4 September 1962), has been an Australian Labor Party member of the Australian Senate since May 1995, representing the state of Victoria. She was born in Melbourne, Victoria, and educated at Monash University and La Trobe University. She was Social Welfare Officer and Research Officer and then National Industrial Officer with the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees' Association before entering politics.

Collins was Shadow Minister for Children and Youth 2003-04. She was defeated at the 2004 election and was not re-elected to the Shadow Ministry after the election. Her term will expire on 30 June, 2005.
