Jacob Acontius (born in Trento - died around 1566) was a Swiss jurist, theologian, philosopher and engineer.
He was mainly occupied studying law. While he was not a strict follower of Calvinism, he still converted to the Reformed Church. For this act he was expelled from his fatherland, an traveled via Strasbourg to London where he was welcomed by Queen Elizabeth I of England.
