Jan Zrzavý was a Bohemian (Czech) painter, graphic and illustrator. He was born in 1890 in Krucemburk near Nemecky Brod in Bohemia. He studied at various Prague art schools, later lived in France. In 1947 he became for a year professor of Olomouc University.
After the communist coup of 1948 he led quiet life out of society in his native village of Krucemburk, where he died in 1977.
