John Fahey (born 10 January 1945) was a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1984 to 1996. Fahey was appointed Premier of New South Wales, Australia in June 1992 after his predecessor Nick Greiner was forced to resign as a result of an Independent Commission Against Corruption of New South Wales investigation. In March 1995 his government was defeated in the general elections by the Labor opposition. John Fahey went on to serve in the federal House of Representatives as Finance Minister in the government of John Howard. He has since retired due to illness.
