Kilfenora

Kilfenora is a small village in county Clare in the Republic of Ireland just south of The Burren area.

Kilfenora Cathedral which is mostly in ruins, dated from the 12th century with 3 high crosses in its yard – amongst them the Doorty Cross in front of the west portal.

Burren Display Centre is an interpretative centre displaying the botany and wildlife of the The Burren area.

For a seriously convoluted reason, the bishop for the parish of Kilfenora is in fact the Pope of the time, and not the bishop of the diocese it should be in - the diocese of Galway
