Kyoho

Kyōhō (享保) was a Japanese era after Shōtoku and before Gembun and spanned from 1716 to 1736. Reigning emperors were Nakamikado and Sakuramachi.

Change of Era

Due to the death of the 7th shōgun, Tokugawa Ietsugu, on the 22nd day of the 6th month of Shōtoku 6 (1716), the era became Kyōhō (享保, "Undergoing and supporting"?)
