Line of succession to the Swedish throne

In 1980 Sweden adopted full cognatic primogeniture, meaning that the eldest descendants of the monarch, regardless of gender, takes precedence, with children taking precedence over grandchildren. Before that Sweden had used the system of Salic law, meaning that females had absolutely no right to succession. See also: Order of succession
