Los Angeles Marathon

The Los Angeles Marathon is an annual marathon held in Los Angeles, California. The race starts at 7:30 A.M. in front of the Disney Concert Hall, which was added to the course in 2002, and runs through Downtown Los Angeles, Koreatown, Crenshaw district , and passes by the University of Southern California, as well as several other landmarks. The track is 26.2 miles long.

Women start 20 seconds before men do, and have lesser prize amounts in certain categories.

The grand prize for the first-place winner is a brand-new car as well as $25,000.

This year's race (2005) will be the 20th anniversary of the marathon.
